Polar Habitats and Adaptation Experiments

The second graders have been engaged in experiments all morning, learning more about habitats and adaptations.
Learning about camouflage
The children were given ten seconds to pick up as many butterflies as possible.  Can you see the ones with a print?
Polar Bear Foot: The children had to find objects that matched the size of a polar bear's foot.
Freezing!: Children had to feel the temperature without "blubber"
Children added "blubber" to their fingers to feel the difference in temperature
Observing icebergs
How is a feather different when dipped in water or dipped in oil?
