Steward School Walk-a-Thon

The walk-a-Thon to benefit the Playground Committee's efforts to build a new preschool playground, purchase recess toys and maintain the existing structures was (again) a huge success!!! Thank you to all those who donated and who participated! 

Arbor Day

Members of our Topsfield Garden Club, Selectman Dick Gandt and Dan Peabody were on hand today to celebrate the addition of our new maple tree by the Steward playground. 

Spring Tea

Families in Miss Judy's class enjoyed a spring tea complete with adorable songs and strawberry shortcake.

 

Exploring Outdoors

The first graders went beyond our walls to explore organisms in nature with Mr. Prazar, an outdoor educator and Steward School parent.  We thank him for bringing this unit to life and collaborating with our teachers to enhance this hands-on unit!

Alumni Day at Steward

Today we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Steward School and had some special guests, former teachers and administrators.  The morning started with refreshments and old photos and then an all school assembly to reminisce and sing Happy Birthday to Steward School. The guests visited classrooms and shared memories of their time at Steward and the event ended with a tour for the alumni.  Thank you, Larry MacElhiney for planning a great day!!

Happy Mother's Day!

I wanted to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all of the female caregivers in our Topsfield Community!  Thank you for caring so much for our Steward School children and sending them to school every day so loved and happy.  Have a wonderful day tomorrow.  You deserve it!

Touch Tank in Kindergarten

Ellen Goethal visited today with touch tanks filled with incredible creatures.  The Kindergarten students loved to see the animals of the ocean and to explore artifacts from their habitat.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Day!

The teachers at Steward School celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week with a breakfast from TESPTO and an assembly to celebrate their accomplishments.  The teachers at Steward School deserve more than a week to honor their dedication and enthusiasm!  The children did a flash mob to the song, "Happy" by Pharrell Williams today.  I wish I had photos but I was so nervous I didn't photograph it.  Please send me your photos from the big show.  Teachers...you make us HAPPY!!!

Preschool Mother's Day Tea

Children in Miss Carol's class wrote cards, danced with their moms or close relatives and had some "tea" to celebrate these amazing women in their lives!
