Music and Dance at Steward School

Today, Tony Vacca and Abdou Sarr
visited and taught music and dance workshops to the second and third graders. The whole school started the day with a trip to Senegal through music and then learned the music and dance techniques from this far away place throughout the day. The whole school ended the day with a music and dance performance from the second and third graders!

Happy Veterans Day!

The children and staff at Steward School would like to thank our nation's veterans for their bravery, courage and sacrifice.  The assembly last week was so special as the children sang the National Anthem, dedicated books of letters to our visiting veterans and marched out of the auditorium like soldiers.  Thank you, Ms. Avallone for making this a memorable event and thank you to the veterans who attended our assembly and helped us celebrate our American heroes!

Evacuation Drill

This week our students practiced an evacuation drill and they were phenomenal!  The children were silent walking down the street and very well behaved on the buses.  I was so proud of them, especially the third graders who continue to act as role models for our younger students.

Fairy House Visit

Our very close neighbor, Patty Grillo, came to share her incredible fairy house that took over 200 hours to create. This taught our children a great lesson about perseverance and setting goals.
