Whole School Assembly About GRIT!

Today each grade taught the other students about guts, resilience, innovation and teamwork. Grade three read inspirational quotes about guts, grade two sang a Bruno Mars song about resilience, grade one turned a squiggle into something innovative and asked Mrs. Costa to do the same and kindergarten sang a song about teamwork using sign language.
Wow, talk about GRIT.
Every grade showed them all today for sure!

Mr. Prazar Teaches Life Science

Children in Mrs. Casagrande's class played a fun game in which they became the wolf and identified where they heard a sound using only their sense of hearing.  They did it perfectly!

The Playground Walk-A-Thon

Thank you to all those who donated to the walk-a-thon to raise money for enhancements to our already amazing Topsfield playgrounds. The event was a huge success!

Second Graders Have GRIT!

Children in grade 2 created a similar bulletin board to the one our staff made, describing times they have demonstrated guts, resilience, innovation or teamwork!

Rob Surette, the extremely talented and inspirational speed painter came to Steward today to show students the true meaning of INNOVATION and brought some to tears with his message of hope through his incredible hero art.  Enjoy these pictures but know that these children had an incredible real life experience today that they may never forget. Personification in Poetry

Mrs. Ford and Mr. Kilham's classes joined forces to create poems brining their own Jack-O-Lanterns to life! They conducted a mini-lesson and guided practice and the children (all of them) were so engaged in this process.

Third Grade Student Council

We had a wonderful time at our first student council meeting! We had our facilitators call the meeting to order, repeated Rotary's Four Way Test and started some major projects. The children got to choose whether they wanted to take on the role of actor, writer, activist, public speaker or artist. We then started our magic and are off to do amazing things!
