Principal for the Day

Look at this dapper Principal for the Day!  Sam and I had the most wonderful day, but he was definitely exhausted.  We conducted security checks, announced extra recess, did bus notes, answered phones, planned an assembly, did learning walks and more.  He did a wonderful job and is ready for the job himself ASAP!

Neal Nichols, Geography Extraordinaire

Cape Cod artist Neal Nichols carries the world in his head and he brought it to Steward School today!  For years, Neal has devoted his life to world travel. In 1992, his travels, combined with his artistic abilities and photographic memory, led to the creation of The Geography Gameshow. This is an interactive learning experience which captivated our students today!

With a marker, some paper, and a few souvenirs from his world travels, Nichols engaged in a whirlwind game show demonstration by drawing maps of the world, the US and the state of Massachusetts in a few moments from memory and then quizzing the students on the locations of various countries, cities, and geographical features.

Grade 3 Weather Workshop

The children recently had a visit from The Discovery Museum in Acton. The 3rd graders participate in experiments to reinforce their understanding about the role of temperature, humidity, air pressure and the water cycle in making weather.  They also learned about weather instruments and information that can be found from these devices.
