The Great Debate

Students from Mrs. Rec's third grade class held a "Great Debate" for members of the Topsfield School Committee last week.  The topic was whether or not students should have homework.  As the TSC reviews the current policy, the students were able to provide feedback from both perspectives The committee praised the students for their efforts in persuading them to think differently about the purpose and value of homework, as well as arguments that it impedes on their social, family and extra-curricular time outside of school.  Great job to some of our third grade risk-takers!
