DASH in Grade 3

We had parent volunteers working in third grade classrooms today teaching the children about decibels. They listened to various sounds and charted them according to the number of predicted
decibels and then checked their answers.

Camping Day

Miss Sideri's class earned Camping Day, full with fire pits, Smore's and sleeping bags. The children read by flashlight and made fireflies out of plastic eggs. The children had a blast!

GRIT with Leprechaun Traps

A few of our kindergarten students shared how they used guts, resilience, innovation and teamwork to create a leprechaun trap as a team. If you look inside you can even seen clothes hanging on hangers!

Easter Egg Hunt in Preschool

We had so much fun "searching" for eggs today!

Eleanor Roosevelt Visits Steward School!

The second and third graders took a trip back in time to learn about Eleanor Roosevelt.  Sheryl Faye is a historical performer presenting school assembly productions of historical women, including Helen Keller, Clara Barton, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Laura Ingalls Wilder, portraying them as strong character role models for students in grades K-8.  She magically turned into this historical figure and taught students about Roosevelt's life and how she made a difference.  Thank you, TESPTO!

Open House 2016

We had the largest turnout I have ever seen this week at our Open House and Ice Cream Social! Thank you to everyone who came and those who worked so hard to make this event a success: our incredible teachers, many sixth graders at Proctor, our third grade student council, the Proctor Planet Protectors, Mr. Dienstmann and Mrs. West and all the Wellness Fair and book fair volunteers and TESPTO!

Hoops for Steward

We are so proud of a group of our third graders who presented their idea for basketball hoops, adjacent to the playground, to our Topsfield School Committee. They spoke so eloquently and presented strong, persuasive arguments. One of our students even Skyped in!  How could anyone resist?

Dr. Seuss Celebration!

Today we had readers from our Topsfield or Tri-Town community as well as family members of our teachers and staff, share Dr. Seuss classics with students in grades PreK-3. Every learning space has a decorated door and to go along with our theme, "Oh, The Places You'll Go," each door represents a Dr. Seuss book, along with a state in the United States. Mrs. Klipfel put together this compilation of our exciting day!

Sneak Peek...

This is our front hallway right now as we prepare for Dr. Seuss Day tomorrow! Don't forget it is Crazy Hat Day. Wait until the children see the teachers. We want to thank TESPTO for buying our silly hats. Children, you will have to wait and see!

Guess Who?
