The second graders went on a trip to the Audubon Sanctuary to explore nature up close! They saw evidence of life and learned more about the wildlife right in our own backyard.

Wow! Save the Paper Towels
Mr. Mark has been collecting paper towels this week to show many paper towels the children use in one week. Now we have two second graders who will be starting a "Save the Paper Towel Club."
Tipi Dan Returns
The third-grade classes worked with Tipi Dan to learn about Native American culture and work together as a team to build a Tipi on the front lawn of Steward School. This took incredible teamwork, collaboration and listening skills. They also listened to Dan's wife Cathy tell stories, show artifacts and share traditions from Native American culture. This is ALWAYS a third grade favorite!!!

Preschool Playground
Yesterday we celebrated our new preschoool playground! The Playground Committee, Mark Theriault from Reliable Fencing and Will LeRoyer from WT LeRoyer Landscape and Design played a critical role in bringing us this new playground and we thank them for their time and effort! The Institution for Savings made a substantial contribution, which really allowed us to complete this project in a shorter amount of time than anticipated. We thank all of our donors and supporters that helped us create a wonderful place for our children to play for years to come! Preschoolers cut the ribbon, along with Mark and Will, to commemorate this special occasion.
Children shared their favorite part of the playground |
Mr. LeRoyer receives a photograph off the new playground and a thank you card |
Mr. Theriault receives his gifts from the children |
The Playground Committee is thanked as well! |

Bringing Science Outdoors
Mrs. Craven's kindergarten were incredible scientists as they used a see through pane of plastic to explore the earth. They shared their observations and were very patient as they waited for signs of life!

Family Information Night
Thank you to all of the families who came to our Family Information Night this evening. We appreciate your support. Please know that if you were unable to make it tonight, we will send home the necessary information or handouts home with your child. Thank you also to the incredible Steward School staff who worked tirelessly to prepare presentations that helped families better understand our curriculum and approach to teaching lower elementary students how to love school and engage in their own learning journeys!

We are back!
The children are back and smiling, so happy to be here. I can only post my own first grader, Lucy, because I am waiting for permission to post pictures. Please send in the handbook signature pages signed as soon as possible!
